Terms of Service

Tiaki Journal is a monthly subscription service that creates a printed photo journal from your family's contributed photos and posts it to your grandparents each month. The service is operated by Emgo Limited, a New Zealand company.

Account holders must be 18 or over. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.

You can invite contributors to your family journal regardless of their age. By inviting a contributor, you take responsibility for their participation, including obtaining parental or guardian consent for anyone under 18. By uploading photos that include images of children, you confirm you have the right to share them.

Tiaki Journal is billed monthly. You can cancel at any time — cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for months already processed. Only the family member who set up the subscription can manage billing or cancel it.

When you cancel, your family retains access to view past journals in the app. We do not automatically delete your data when you cancel — if you'd like your data removed entirely, email us at hello@tiakijournal.co.nz and we'll action this within 30 days.

Inviting family members to contribute photos is done via an invite link. Treat your invite link like a password — anyone with the link can join your family journal. We recommend only sharing it directly with people you trust to contribute.

Photos and captions you upload are used solely to generate your monthly journal. We do not use your photos for any other purpose, share them publicly, or use them in marketing. You retain ownership of all photos you upload, and by uploading them you give us permission to reproduce and process them solely for the purpose of creating your journal.

By uploading a photo, you confirm you have the right to share it and the right to have it printed and posted as part of your journal.

Tiaki Journal is designed for family photos. You agree not to upload content that is inappropriate, offensive, or unlawful. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that misuse the service. If we suspend your account for misuse, your subscription will also be cancelled and billing will stop from that point.

Current pricing is NZD $39/month for one grandparent household and NZD $59/month for two grandparent households. Prices may change with reasonable notice.

We work with trusted print partners to produce and post your journal each month. Delivery timeframes are estimates — we're not responsible for postal delays outside our control once your journal has been posted.

We take care to deliver a high quality journal every month. If there is a problem with your journal, please contact us and we will make it right. To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, our liability is limited to the value of your most recent monthly subscription.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

If we make material changes to these terms, we'll let you know by email and update the date at the top of this page.

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
